The International Society for Condition Monitoring (ISCM)

The International Society for Condition Monitoring (ISCM) is a private company limited by guarantee (LBG) which provides an international forum for individuals and organisations with an interest in condition monitoring. Its purpose is to bring together an international community with the common aim of achieving excellence in the development and practice of condition monitoring and related diagnostic technologies.
The ISCM will achieve its aim through:
• Facilitating a worldwide network for interchange of knowledge
• Encouraging and supporting national and international seminars and conferences
• A high-level online journal
• Providing input into the development of training, qualification and certification programmes
• Contributing to the development of international standards
• Encouraging and supporting publishing initiatives
• Liaison with other national and international bodies.

Aims and Strategy

The ISCM aims to enhance the field of condition monitoring (CM) and related areas worldwide through development of scientific-technical understanding of the field, its beneficial application and public understanding.
This to be achieved under the following categories:
CM for Industry: support ISCM Corporate members and actively collaborate internationally with industrial companies of all sizes in CM and related areas.
CM for Science, CM Strategic Scientific-Technical Directions and Specialist Groups: development and support of new strategic scientific-technical directions inside the ISCM, including prognostics, root cause analysis, maintenance and fusion/integration of CM technologies. Development of ISCM specialist groups covering all areas of CM and related areas.
CM Education: support ISCM Liaison members related to higher education, development, support and improvement of international CM education; organization and management internationally of CPD in CM and related areas, including CM seminars/short courses.
CM Certification: support internationally CM certification and training.
CM Conferences: support of international conferences in CM and related areas, including annual International Condition Monitoring Conferences.
CM Publications: development and support internationally of CM publications, including the International Journal of Condition Monitoring; development and support of ISCM online media.
CM Promotion Internationally: leadership of CM internationally, including CM public awareness; network creation worldwide with Institutions, Societies, Networks, Trade Associations, Centres of Excellence and publication bodies related to CM and related areas.
CM Projects/Grant Applications: support and involvement in international CM projects/grant applications in CM and related areas.

Secretariat

Administration is provided by the full-time secretariat of The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing, which already has a substantial CM community within its membership as well as experience in organising CM conferences and producing CM publications. The ISCM will be financed through membership subscriptions. Annual accounts will be produced and presented to members.
